Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat — the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing — is Indonesia's central infrastructure authority. Its remit runs from national roads and toll-road oversight through dams, irrigation, drinking water, sanitation, and public housing, executed through sectoral directorates general such as Bina Marga, Sumber Daya Air, Cipta Karya, and Penyediaan Perumahan.
The ministry was founded as a public works department in 1945 and took its current name in October 2014. Because its projects are physical works scattered across an archipelago, it relies on internal monitoring systems — including the i-eMonitoring dashboard described in its public guide — to report physical and financial progress to leadership.
